Labor Day Weekend

We had a fun and exciting weekend with our family. It started a little early with some shopping in Park City on Thursday night with my mom, Ruth, and Sarah.

On Friday the family went up to Brighton and stayed in a cabin or as they called it a "Chalet" for the night. It was beautiful up there in the mountains and about 10 degrees cooler. Jeff and Andrew attempted to do some fishing on Silver Lake but didn't catch anything. My mom and I watched for a while until the sun got too hot and we headed back to the shade and the comfort of the cabin. Jared, Ruth, and my dad went on a hike somewhere in the mountains and Cameron did a little mountain biking. The evening Cameron and I took a very short hike up a trail and just enjoyed the beautiful scenery.

I think Ethan was more interested in trying to tie a piece of grass around my moms toes than he was into fishing.
Ethan would reel the line in and yell "I CAUGHT TWO! I CAUGHT TWO!" Of course, he never had anything on the line, but he still yelled it :)
Andrew waiting for a fish...there were some other people on the landing that caught some and I think he was just as excited for them as he would have been if he caught them himself.
My mom enjoying the sun and her book.

Walking back to the car. This boardwalk goes all the way around the lake.

Some scenic pictures Cameron got while on his bike ride. If you want to see more of the scenic pictures there are some on our photobucket page under "Labor Day Weekend"

This is the Chalet we stayed in.

Saturday all the boys went to the BYU football game while me, Ruth, and my mom went and saw "Becoming Jane." A wonderful movie but it broke my heart and made me bawl. I'm so happy that Jane Austin was able to do what she really wanted to do and write novels, but I just wish she could have done it with the love of her life by her side. And then to see the love they still had for each other when they were older was too much for me to bear, and I just bawled. That night we went to our favorite restaurant, Tepanyaki, with the family and the kids absolutly LOVED it. I wish I had had my camera because their faces were priceless. For those of you who have never heard of it or been there, they cook your food on a grill right in front of you and make a fun show of it but making an onion volcano and flipping shrimp into your mouth and lots of other things.

Sunday we had a family get together at my Aunt Becky's house and we were able to catch up with our cousins and have some great food.

Monday my parents headed home. We had a great time with them and were so glad they were here for so long. I can't wait to see them again at Thanksgiving!
