Walking

Evie has been "walking" for quite a while now. But she has only been doing it with her little walking toy that she can push around the house. But the other night she actually took her first real steps!! It was so exciting! She still would prefer to use her toy to walk with and to crawl, but every once in a while we can get her to walk to us. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before shes walking all over the place.

The Day I Got Nothing Done

I am a dish-doer, not the type to let them sit ALL day in the sink. Not today. Today I let them sit.

I am a dinner maker, not a fend-for-yourself person. (okay, maybe sometimes) Tonight was one of those nights, someone else had to make dinner.

I am a bed-maker-first-thing-in-the-morninger, not a leave-it-for-tomorrow person. You guessed it, not today. Today it sat un-maid allll day.

I am a mess cleaner-upper, not a mess maker. Not today. Today I did this:

I decided to make them for Cameron to give to his co-workers for Christmas, and for the ladies I visit teach.

Be careful though...they are very addicting.... (you've been warned).

I just got back from a wonderful week in Lacey. I had so much fun with my mom and sisters. I had tons of fun going shopping with my mom and she even taught me how to use my sewing machine (I'll post pictures of what we sewed later.) Evelyn had a wonderful time getting to know her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins better.

My sisters and I were even to get pedicures! It was so much fun. I meant to get a picture that day, but we just got busy and I forgot, but I did get a picture later. Chandler loves Evelyn, he's so cute with her and loves to give her hugs and kisses. Aubrey had fun playing dress up with Evelyn :) Madisyn also loves playing with Evelyn, and Evelyn loved all the attention. Chase was actually very good with Evelyn. He completely ignored her the whole time, lol. Which is good for him. I was so glad this picture turned out so well.

The only bad part about our trip was that Evelyn and I came down with nasty colds.

Exploring and Destroying

Evelyn had a great time exploring her new surroundings. My mom was wonderful to let her not only explore her house, but also destroy it. At our house we don't have handles or knobs on our doors or drawers so Evelyn loved holding ontot them and climbing around the kitchen.
Evelyn also discoverd my moms bathroom. She figured out how to flush the toilet and did it over and over again. Then she saw the closet... And this is what was left when she was done...
A few other things Evelyn discovered were the stairs. My mom taught her how to go up and down them. She thought it was so much fun. She finally figured out how to turn around at the top and go down the stairs backwards. But she would only go down one step and then wanted to climb up again, so she would do that over and over again. She also discoverd the magazine rack, there were a few casualties. And while my mom was folding laundry Evelyn discovered socks. She played with my moms socks on her bed for half an hour...the simple things that make us happy...

Birthday Parties

While visiting my family in Lacey we were able to celebrate Aubrey and Luke's birthdays. Aubrey turned 8 and Luke turned 6. We had a family dinner and cake on Sunday. Then later that week they had a party at Skateland.

Evelyn loved getting pushed around the rink in the stroller. She was kicking her legs and waving her arms smiling and talking away.

My dad even put some skates on! Rylee and Aubrey helped him stay on his feet :)

Heather and I did a little bit of skating. I only ALMOST fell once...lol. I have never been able to skate so I was happy that I didn't fall, although I was pretty unsteady at times.
