Fun times at the Chandler's

This weekend we had tons of fun hanging out with and helping my brother Jeff move. We also go to hang out with Havalah and Brigg Friday night which was tons of fun! We hadn't seen them since their wedding so it was nice to catch up with them.

On Saturday we helped Jeff move, well Cameron helped him move and I helped Sarah watch the kids. They moved into her parents house since they just left to be the Mission President in Seattle, WA. It was a hot hot hot day so they were pretty exhausted by the time they were done but still had enough energy to play a few games that night. On Sunday we went back over to their house for dinner. I have been craving Salmon for the longest time, so Cameron and I brought some Salmon over to Jeff and Sarah's and we grilled it for dinner. It was SOOO good. We had grilled Salmon, grilled zucchini, corn on the cob, salad, and even smoothies! It was wonderful!! I made sure and brought my camera with me when we went over Sunday because I haven't taken any pictures in a really long time. Boy was I glad I had it! I got some great pictures of the kids.

Andrew loves his Uncle Cameron. He will do anything he can to get his attention, it's pretty funny. Andrew was playing a game on his dads phone and wanted Cameron to play it with him so he just walked over and made himself comfortable on his lap, it was pretty cute.

Ethan had been playing downstairs for quite a while and then all of the sudden we heard him stomping on the stairs and growling. He came up wearing this mask. It was SO funny. He was very into being a monster.

Claire wanted to mow the lawn like Ethan.
Ethan was VERY serious about mowing the lawn. He mowed the whole sidewalk and around all the planter boxes. Actually he mowed everything BUT the lawn. The little mower's handle would bend every time he tried to push it on the grass so he just stuck to the sidewalks.
Claire was playing in the sandbox and it turns out she was eating more than playing. It was pretty cute seeing her all covered in sand.
Andrew got pretty good at balancing on the basketball.
Caught in the act.

The Rumor is True...

A lot of you might have heard a rumor that I am pregnant, it's true. :) I am 9 weeks pregnant now and have finally started to get over the morning sickness, YAY! But now I just can't sleep at night and have to go to the bathroom ALL the time. So um yeah, that's pretty much it...Oh and I am due January 25th.

It still wierd to me that I am pregnant. I was always babysitting my nieces and nephews, I was always Aunt Jamie (actually mostly Mimi), it's wierd to think that I will have my own child to watch now and I'll be a mother... But now my siblings can start paying me back by watching my kids ;) Actually by the time I live close enough for them to actually watch my kids Madisyn will probably be old enough to babysit...that is SO wierd to me... Wow, I think I have a lot of things I need to start getting used to.

States

At work there are times when it is REALLY slow. I can only read so many news articles and look at so many recipes before I start to go a little crazy. I decided last week that I wanted to re-learn all the capitals. I figured that would be something productive to do when I had down time and even beneficial. I found this website that has these two games on it. The first is matching the states and the second is matching the capitols to the states. I am glad I came across the one where you just match the states first because when I got to the capitols one I realized I needed to know where all the states were. I can now say that I know where ALL the states are! Woohoo! I feel so smart :) And I know all but 8 of the capitols, I'm getting closer :)

Maybe once I have the capitols mastered I will try to re-learn math...but I will have to be REALLY bored to attempt that one...

Here are the websites for the states and capitol's games if you are brave enough to try. At first it makes you feel pretty dumb, especially if you don't get them all right in the alloted time and it says "YOU HAVE FAILED THE THIRD GRADE", but when you do master it you feel pretty dang smart, or atleast I did :)

Haircuts

Before we got married Cameron told me that I would have to start cutting his hair once we got hitched because it would be wierd for his friend Janette to continue doing it once he had a wife. I told him I did NOT want to do it and he could just go somewhere and pay the $7 to get it done. So far he has won the fight and I have to cut his hair once a month. Everytime he says it's time for a haircut I try to put it off for as long as I can until I can't stand looking at the shagginess on top of his head. But I never cut it without complaining the entire time. I'm hoping that someday he will get annoyed enough with my complaining and go pay to get it done. Here is the most recent haircutting adventure:

For the last week Cameron has been saying he needed a haircut. Finally last night I gave in and said I would cut it. I absolutly HATE cutting his hair because before we got married I had never cut someone's hair. I still have no idea what I am doing and everytime I cut it it turns out different and doesn't look good for about 2 weeks until it was grown back in and filled in the spots that look so silly. The other reason I hate cutting his hair is because his clippers are like 25 years old and everytime I turn them on they make this really really loud and obnoxious buzzing noise that is like a mix between a spoon stuck in a disposal plus fingernails on a chalkboard and your car alarm going off all at once. To make it stop you have to hit the side of the clippers really hard and turn it on and off a couple of times to make it go away.

Last night I turned on the clippers and they didn't make the annoying noise, which was a miracle, I started cutting the top and got that done. At this point I had been using a "4" on the top and just did that all over his head to make sure it was all even on top, then I do a "1" on the sides, but I did his neck and sideburns before I got to the sides. I took of the guard off so I could do his neck and sideburns, I got that done and turned the clippers off to see if the sideburns were even. They were a little crooked so I turned the clippers back on and they started to make the noise. I threw it at Cameron and told him to make it stop. (I can't hit it hard enough to make it stop, so I always throw it at him when it starts making the noise) He hit it and it stoped so he handed it back to me and the second I touched it the noise started up again. I threw it back at him and he maked it stop, he handed it back to me and it was fine. I started to angle it so I could get his sideburns at it started making the noise again! We repeat the process of me throwing it back, him making it stop, and as soon as I touch it it starts up again, we did that about 3 times. Finally we realized there was a short in the cord where it attaches to the clippers. If I even turned it very very slightly it started making the noise again. At some point we put the "1" guard on it to see if I could cut the sides of his hair because I hadn't done that yet. Well the thing wouldn't stop making the noise so Cameron thought "Maybe if I hit it REALLY hard it will stop." So he hit it on the floor and broke the guard... It did make it stop making the noise for a minute. But the second he handed it back to me it started up again. We turned it off and on again and it wouldn't stop making the noise. So finally we stopped trying.

So today Cameron is walking around with his hair half cut looking like a furball and everyone will know I cut it and they will say "Wow, your wife really sucks at cutting your hair." Maybe they will convince him to go and pay to get it done. I think for the sanity of both of us that is the best idea.

Oh, and not to mention that tonight we have to go to a family dinner on his side with most of his cousins and aunts and uncles there and then after that we have to go to a reception for a longtime friend of his that I have never met. I'm sure they will remember me as the wife that couldn't cut his hair.

Layouts and Rain

If you haven't noticed by now, I change my blog layout probably more than anyone in the whole world of blogging. I just can't decide on one that I really really like and then I get tired of the same one after a while. Someday maybe I'll find one that I really like. But for now I am just going to keep changing it.

It has been cold and rainy for the last couple of days here in Salt Lake, and I ma LOVING it!! It makes me feel like I am at home again. I seriously love the rain and miss it SO much! I've been trying to soak it in as much as I can, but since it's so cold I don't really go outside. So instead I have just been staring out the window at work and daydreaming about being out in it. My bosses will be happy when it stops I'm sure, then I'll get more done. But for now I am going to enjoy it :)
