Mmmm....FOOD!

At the beginning of my pregnacy I didn't eat hardly anything. Not because it made me sick or nauseous, but because I just wasn't hungry. I would take a few bits of whatever and then I was full. Needless to say, I lost some weight.

The tides have finally turned and I just can't get enough food it seems like. All I want to do is eat eat eat. Yesterday, for example, I came home from work and had two frozen burritos, a bowl of cereal, some potato chips, a few Snickers, a baked potato, and broccoli (I made enough broccoli for both Cameron and I, but Cameron didn't eat any, so I ended up eating it all). After scarfing down all this food I felt like my stomach was going to explode! I was most definently full. But I still wanted to eat! I wasn't hungry, I just wanted to eat. After going through every cupboard and shelf I finally settled on a nice, big, bowl of ice-cream :)

I think my doctor will be pleasently surprised tomorrow that I have been gaining weight at a much faster rate (she recently "scolded" me for not gaining weight fast enough).

All I have to say these days is BRING ON THE FOOD!

I think the picture below describes very well how I am feeling these days :)

Blessings

Cameron starts his new job tonight. I have a wide range of emotions running through me concerning this new job, but most of all, I feel blessed.

Since we found out I was pregnant I have been worrying a lot about how we would "survive" without me working. I have been very stressed trying to figure out how we would get insurance, how we would pay our bills, etc. Cameron began looking for full-time benefited jobs, but was having a hard time because 99.9% of them were 9-5 jobs and most required weeks of training. These jobs wouldn't work because of his school schedule.

I was feeling very discouraged. Then he came across a job opening for a "sweeper" at the Church Office Building working from 9pm to 5am, and it was full-time with benefits. We thought it would be wonderful because he could go to his classes and still work full-time. The only problem was that they couldn't hire him while I still worked here. The Church Office Building has a policy that only one spouse can work here full-time.

We sort of pushed it to the back of our minds, but it was always there. Well a few weeks ago, the guy in charge of hiring for the position approached Cameron, because he knew Cameron was interested in it, and told him that because it had been a month since they posted the job and no one was applying he might be able to talk the higher up's into hiring Cameron now, but they would have to figure out someway to not give him his benefits until I was gone. We were extatic! I decided to talk to my boss and see if there was any way I could waive my benefits so Cameron could get the job. I explained to him the situation and he went and talked to other people. Well, finally he came back and said that they were figuring out a way that we could BOTH have benefits and be full-time!

It has all worked out so perfectly. They decided they would waive their policy for the few months I have left, under one stipulation, that if I do in fact decide to return, Cameron has to quite immediatly...umm...no problem there!! They are even going to start him off a little higher than the base pay because he already has experience with the machines. So it's a great pay raise, the hours are kind of sucky because it's all night, but he will still be able to go to school and finish his classes so he can graduate in May, and we will BOTH have benefits. I don't know a WHOLE lot about the way insurance works but when Cameorn talked to the guy in charge of benefits here at the Church he told him that since we will both have insurance we shouldn't have to pay anything when we have our baby! That was music to my ears.

Cameron and I have seen the hand of the Lord working in our lives and I am so grateful! I know he truly loves us and is watching over us. My faith is growing and I finally feel like everything WILL be alright :) I'm not so excited about sleeping alone every night, especially after I have the baby, but I know the Lord is aware of me and he will continue to bless me.

Baby Shower!

This last Saturday, October 13, my wonderful sister-in-laws, Ruth and Sarah, threw me a baby shower! It was lots of fun and I was pleasently surprised with the turn out :) Most of my aunts on my dads side were there at the beginning but had to runt to a baptism and funeral so I don't have any pictures of them. I got lots of cute clothes and blankets and some other things I needed, like a bouncer and a monitor and a few other knick knacks. Thanks everyone for the wonderful gifts! I just had to put a picture of Claire on here. She's just so cute! (even if she's not looking at the camera)
Ruth, Havalah, and Grandma Chandler
Hailey and Amy, my old roommates. (Amy, it's the only picture I had of you so even though your eyes were closed I had to put it on there)
Cameron's cousins :)
One of the many cute outfits I got. Cameron especially liked this one.
We played this game where you had a bowl full of uncooked rice and those tiny little gold safety pins and then you are blindfolded and you have a minute to find as many safety pins as you can. It is hard! I only found 7, haha. Hailey destroyed everyone and found 34!! The next closest to her was 18.
Havalah got me this shirt, it's for when she is 18months, I thought it was so cute!
Cameron and Jeff even joined in for the fun!!

Patience

Well as you know from my previous post, I am addicted to the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyers. I was really excited when I first started them because there were three books out already, and I thought that meant I wouldn't have to wait for anymore and I could just read right through them all. Then my sister posted a message saying she can't wait for the 4th book. WHAT?!?!?! There's a fourth book?!!?! I was excited because I want to keep reading them, but I was very upset that the fourth book wasn't out yet and I would have to wait. I wanted to know how long I would have to wait so I went to the author's website (stephaniemeyer.com) and found out that it doesn't come out until Fall 2008!!!!! That is a year away!!!! I am very upset about this, but I guess there isn't anything I can do about it...*sigh*

For those of you who have not read these books, you should read them. That's all I have to say about that :)

Amazing Book!!

My sister-in-law Sarah told me about this book and so I thought I would check it out. I bought it on Friday and since Cameron had to work all day Saturday I thought it a perfect time to start it. Well...10 hours later I finished it...haha. It is an AMAZING book!! There are two more after it, New Moon and Eclipse. I was sad that I didn't finish it until late Saturday so I couldn't get the next book, but that is on my list of things to do today as soon as I can. It is seriously the best book I have ever read. I read it faster than I read any of the Harry Potter books if that gives you an idea of how good it is. I was a bit sceptical about it at first because it is about vampires and I'm not really into that whole fantasy world stuff, but I needed a book to read and had heard it was good so I gave it a try, and boy am I glad I did! So if you aren't into that stuff like I am, you should still give it a try, you'll be impressed :) And what makes it even better is that the author is a graduate from BYU and so the book is totally clean, but it's not one of those LDS novels that you can get bored of sometimes. I can't say enough about how great it is! You'll have to check it out for yourself!!
